Memoir

memoir is a fervent passion amidst fading memory

in the light of day when stories take me back in time

in the depth of night when dreams sweep me away

holding on tight, not knowing if demons lurk

wondering if this peculiar reality persists

outside of consciousness, inside of cosmos

ultimacy of quantum space, intimacy

of a sunny morning along the beach

serene space to cherish, alone, carefree

walking on shifting sand, my being grounds

beholds existence: fragile, ephemeral, mystical

beheld by hopeful transcendence

as I lift a starfish washed in, back to surf

maybe some god will lift me

to a place of life, beauty, wonder.
