One Cup of Tea

November 15, 2020 by Lila Danielle 1 Comment

Perhaps, someday…
when the shattering is complete,
we will sit in each other’s company again,
rest in the space of shared silence.
And then, only after reuniting
in that realm of everything and nothing,
a fierce softening will arise –
words will tumble forth from our mouths
and our hearts will rejoice
as truth reveals itself.
That, which is human in us all,
will celebrate at long last
being fully seen, heard and felt.
Perhaps then…
we will sip tea together
from the same cup.

About Lila Danielle

Lila Danielle has loved Cannon Beach since her first visit thirty years ago. Awhile back, she was a columnist for The Gazette newspaper for two years and was an occasional contributing writer to HipFish. Nowadays, she's writing more poetry, listening deeply, and learning the subtle arts of solitude, silence and stillness all while continuing to dance on the beach. She, like many folks who remember them, still misses Mike Burgess and Billy Hults.

A fortifying poem that makes me smile, and fire up the kettle of hope

Tea for two fosters Oneness, in the aftermath of the illusion of separateness
Breaking the cup before us to say
    The tea is We…

    Thank you, Lila!
