families with developmental dysfunction
schools with educational failure
communities with crimes
religions with demons
Most of us are more than a bit crazy
character flaws, personality disorders abound
emotional, physical abuse reign freely
economic disparity denies opportunities
social justice compromised by political corruption
history’s course leads humanity astray
Yet society brims with diversity
originality, innovation flourish
science, art, and human toil yield more
earth spins in its lonely place in the universe
human beings find meaning after all
life goes a bit crazy for sure
Steve, greetings to a fellow traveler. I like to think that there is no meaning to life until we give it meaning. People appear to be meaning-makers. We give meaning to our experiences based on the meaning we accept as true from past events. What is true in one arena is false in another. I like to think we are all a bit wise. That we have the good sense to act in our best interests with loving-kindness. We want for all to succeed and do well. We are crazy mostly, as you suggest, and we are wise sometimes, as you also suggest. For now, let’s find our better selves and grow from there.
