Sam Steidel described himself as "a long time hobby writer who is interested in stories he can’t find elsewhere." Raised in the arts and grown in Cannon Beach, he was active in the community (including two terms as mayor). Borrowing his own words, Sam experienced history in the first person and preferred his bike to the car. His dog won out over meetings, and he believed trees listen better than most people.
